Chapter: 88
About ten weeks back, Mathews suddenly proposed a collaboration for his new album.
Claudia was somewhat taken aback. Known for her dislike for publicity, she was not a prominent figure in their country. Collaborative requests typically came from within her circle.
Yet, Mathews, a major star, wished to collaborate, promising a substantial monetary reward. Claudia, considering the financial aspect and their amicable bond, readily agreed.
Thus, her purpose for being at the studio that day.
Unfortunately, a traffic jam delayed her arrival. It was already twenty past nine when Claudia reached Mathews’ studio, with the recording session imminent.
Swiftly, she requested Carson to help with her wheelchair, seated herself, and made her way into the building, leaving Carson behind. ©
Upon entering the premises, the receptionist intercepted her. "Miss, hello. Whom are you here to see?"
Claudia returned the greeting, "Hello, I'm Claudia Marshall. I'm here to record a song with Mathews Gomez."
At the mention of Mathews, a star at Sky Entertainment, the receptionist granted Claudia access. Stepping away from her desk, she offered, "Miss Marshall, let me guide you upstairs."
“No, thanks. I can manage on my own."
Claudia was mildly mortified, assuming the receptionist had misconstrued her wheelchair use for a disability.
With Claudia's insistence, the receptionist fell silent, pressed the button for the 15th floor, and exited.
Just as Claudia exited the elevator, a man's voice echoed. "Where is Mathews?"
As his voice receded, a sluggish male voice responded, "I'm here."
Claudia couldn't help but smile and called out. "Mathews."
Upon hearing Claudia, numerous staff members were drawn towards her. The sight of a stunning woman in a wheelchair by the elevator entrance caused a wave of confusion and surprise.
Mathews' agent, taken aback, assumed Claudia was an fervent fan. He inquired, with a stern expression, "Who permitted her entry?"
Mathews strolled up to Claudia, scanning her from head to toe. “Are you disabled?"
Claudia blushed slightly. "No, I fractured my leg. The doctor insisted on me resting properly, hence the wheelchair.”
Mathews clucked his tongue. "Had you informed me sooner, I would have arranged for someone to pick you up.”
“That's alright. My driver brought me here.”
“Okay.”
