Chapter: 98
“Fine. Anything else?”

Claudia was still angry from the day's proceedings!

There was a low chuckle from Bennett that strangely seemed enticing. Claudia reflexively reached for her ear.

“still sulking?"

“I'm not.”

There was no way she would concede!

Claudia grabbed a pillow, positioned it comfortably against her waist and reclined.

“Sure, you're not mad. You just didn't feel Like responding to my text." ©

Stumped by his retort, she grumbled, “Poor network. I missed it! Oh no, it's breaking up again. Need to disconnect. Bye!" ©

And with that, she ended the call.

Glancing at her phone's display, guilt crept into Claudia. She hesitated and then texted Bennett, “Sorry for the poor network." “Fine, I'll fetch you later in the afternoon."

He bought it!

Claudia's tension eased. "Okay." Then she added a cute rabbit emoji. Upon seeing the adorable emoji, a smile flickered across Bennett's face. He chose not to respond any further.

She was such a sweet girl!

When Claudia woke up from her nap, it was nearly five o'clock in the afternoon.

She remembered Bennett's proposition for dinner, although the specifics were veiled in mystery. The happenings of the day had left an imprint on him, that much was evident.

She glanced at her leg, still healing, its strength not fully regained. She speculated Bennett would object to her company at a formal business event in her current condition.

So, if it wasn't a banquet, it surely must be a business dinner. Claudia selected a designer short dress from her wardrobe. With a high collar and a classic blue pattern, the dress spoke of youthful vitality and refined elegance. A pleated waistband accentuated her slender figure, and the A-Line silhouette flattered her Legs, enhancing their appearance.

Despite her injured leg, she knew that once seated in her wheelchair, it would not attract much attention.

Her skin was flawless, and the thigh-high hemline exposed a hint of her smooth thighs.

A knock echoed from the door, and the voice of the family maid, Chana, announced Bennett's arrival.

Surveying herself in the mirror, Claudia found her reflection pleasing.
