Chapter: 995
With a teasing grin, Bennett replied, “You'll find out when the time comes."
Noting Bennett's newfound playfulness, Claudia simply responded,
“Alright then."
He let her go, announcing, "Time for breakfast."
“Sounds good,"
Claudia nodded. She watched Bennett head toward the corner of the road before she closed the door and made her way to the dining table.
Breakfast, courtesy of Marcia, had already been served; the milk, once scalding hot, was now just right.
Following the meal, Claudia made her way to the piano room.
Not long after she started her practice session, she received a call from the singer referred by Mathews.
A quick chat led her to accept the gig, scheduled for the upcoming week.
It was expected to take up only half a day, and while the compensation wasn't as high as Mathews' rates, it was still a tidy sum.
Raking in a few thousand dollars for a half-day's work? Claudia was ecstatic, especially since she had been hoping to save up for a gift for Bennett.
The early morning job offer buoyed her spirits, infusing her piano practice with a sense of joy.
Meanwhile, checking his wristwatch for the third time, Bennett prompted Jackson to ask, "Mr. Dreskin, is that a new timepiece?"
Casting a fleeting glance, Bennett responded, “Yes, a gift from my wife."
Jackson chuckled awkwardly, realizing Bennett had been waiting for him to take notice.
He responded promptly, “Your wife has excellent taste. This watch really suits you."
A fleeting smile graced Bennett's features as he glanced at his wristwatch. But when he looked up, his expression had turned icy.
“Get in touch with the wedding dress designer and the wedding planner."
It was high time he and Claudia began planning their wedding.
Jackson paused briefly, then said, "Certainly, Mr. Dreskin. I'll set it up right away."
Having worked for Bennett for years, Jackson was quick on the uptake.
When Bennett mentioned the wedding dress designer and planner,
Jackson's mind immediately went to the venue.
