Chapter: 997
Claudia had been lost in her thoughts, struggling with her emotions moments before. Now feeling awkward, she stuttered, “Don't worry about it. I'm getting out of the water."
She gripped his hand tightly and attempted to use her other hand to reach his shoulder for leverage.
Though oblivious to Claudia's thoughts, how could Bennett deny her request?
He chuckled.
"As you wish."
While speaking, he deliberately loosened his grip. Claudia was taken by surprise and tumbled back into the water.
The next second, Bennett jumped into the pool after her, fully clothed. A spray of water hit Claudia's face.
Claudia watched, astonished, as he joined her in the water. His black shirt, soaked and now clinging to his body, accentuated his muscles, presenting a more breathtaking sight.
Claudia was stunned, her face flushing a deeper crimson.
“I was just kidding."
“It's okay."
He reassured her with a smile, gently tugging at her hand. Claudia threw herself into his arms.
Gazing at her bare shoulder shimmering under the water, Bennett found it difficult to contain his desire. He lowered his head, locked eyes with Claudia, and asked, "Is it still hot now?"
Right now, Claudia felt even hotter.
Bennett's breath felt as fiery as burning firewood. Even in the cool water, the heat emanating from him was palpable, making it hard for
Claudia to keep her composure.
The intensity of her desire for him had become unbearable. She felt the urge to get out of the pool and run away.
However, Bennett wasn't about to let her escape so easily. His clothes were clinging to him uncomfortably after being soaked, and he wanted to remove them. He held Claudia with one hand and began unbuttoning his shirt with the other.
He smiled wickedly, coaxing, “Cece, what did you have in mind when you asked me to jump into the water?"
His once crisply tailored suit was now drenched. The fabric hugged his form. His short hair, tousled by the water, added to his allure, making him even more irresistible.
He glanced at her while unbuttoning his shirt. His refined tone took on a romantic quality.
With her heart racing, Claudia extended her trembling hand to stop him.
“I read a novel a few days ago."
Bennett raised an eyebrow as he glanced at her hand resting on his, prompting her to continue.
