Chapter: 1006
Nelson came to fetch her early.
When Camila emerged from the door, he lowered the window of the car.
“I'm here."
Camila then walked up and hopped in the car.
With that, they headed to the auction venue.
In the car, Nelson turned to Camila and informed her, "The auction will feature a lot of priceless works of art, including paintings, jewels, and calligraphy. If something catches your eye, tell me, and I'll buy it for you."
He then added, “I don't mean anything by doing this. It's just that since you're Cathy's daughter-in-law, I consider you the same way."
“I'm not really interested in those things," Camila replied smilingly. Nelson muttered, "She frequently shopped with me for antiques, paintings, and calligraphy because I enjoyed collecting those things.”
As always, whenever he talked about Cathy, he could not help but feel sad.
Camila chose that moment to change the subject.
“I'm assuming everyone who will attend the auction must be very well off. Am I right?"
After all, ordinary people usually did not participate in such events. Nelson replied, "Well, yes. In all likelihood, the world's wealthiest people will be present."
More often than not, auctions served as a form of entertainment for the wealthy.
Camila hummed in acknowledgment .
Soon, the car stopped, indicating that they had arrived.
Outside the venue were a large number of expensive cars, many of which were Limited editions of their respective models.
Camila was familiar with nearly all of them.
It was because Isaac owned the vast majority of them.
He owned a lot of vehicles, even if he rarely used them.
It was not a surprise, though, as it was universal knowledge that men liked buying vehicles while women Liked buying clothes.
At the entrance, everyone had to have their identification checked. However, the personnel at the auction house believed Nelson when he claimed that Camila was his daughter because he was a regular client who often brought his daughter there, and they were able to enter without any problems.
The men at the door treated Nelson with great deference. They obviously knew who he was.
"You'd be able to enter without any problems even if I didn't tag along, wouldn't you?" Despite Camila's query, she already knew the answer.
Nelson Laughed heartily.
“You saw right through me. I wanted to take you out for a while because you'd been working too hard. It's true that Annis has returned, though. I didn't lie to you. She really went to investigate Cathy's grave."
