Chapter: 1069
It became clear that their interaction was far from flirtatious.
She immediately turned away, understanding that regardless of their relationship, she shouldn't intrude in their privacy.
As she closed the door behind her, she unexpectedly found Isaac standing in the corridor.
His gaze was fixed steadily upon her.
Camila was shocked, questioning whether or not he had seen her peeking at Alick earlier.
She honestly didn't intend to eavesdrop on them.
Her curiosity had just gotten the better of her.
“I promise I didn't see anything," she hurriedly said in explanation. However, Isaac remained silent and walked towards his room.
Camila was left speechless with confusion written all over her face. She was unable to decipher Isaac's intentions.
She wondered if he believed her explanation or not.
His unpredictable attitude perplexed her.
Nervously following him, Camila put on a facade of calmness and inquired, "Mr. Johnston, did you have a good rest yesterday?"
Isaac entered the room.
However, he gave her no response, leaving Camila even more perplexed.
She realized that the more she spoke, the more she might make silly mistakes, so she quickly changed the topic saying, “I will prepare a medicated bath for you."
Camila proceeded to the bathroom, intending to fulfill her self-assigned duty.
But just as she entered, Alick suddenly burst in.
He was clutching onto a woman.
Alick's state of mind had been greatly affected by Annis, who had almost driven him to madness.
He felt Like his every waking moment had been haunted by her.
She wished she could be with him constantly.
However, due to Annis's identity, he didn't dare to take any action. Confused and unsure of what to do, Alick exclaimed, "Mr. Johnston, she's driving me crazy!"
"I believe you're far from being crazy. If you were crazy, could you tell me where my mother's grave is?"
Annis fearlessly confronted Isaac.
She was convinced that despite them having different fathers, the fact that they shared the same mother somehow immuned her from getting harmed by Issac whether or not he liked her.
