Chapter: 1088
Why was she saying things that were so confusing?
He forcefully wriggled his leg free from her grasp. Upon reaching the doorway, he saw that Annis was still on the floor, crying.
He stopped for a while and hesitated whether he should go to her and check up on her or not.
There were people passing through the hotel Lobby who would point at her and whisper nasty things beneath their breaths.
Some men who were drawn by her beauty and saw that she was alone approached for a chat.
Afraid that something bad might happen to her, Alick came back and drove away the men who were trying to chat her up.
“Has her room been prepared?" Alick asked.
The receptionist nodded. "Yes."
After that, the receptionist handed the card to Alick.
He took the room key and picked up Annis from the floor. "I wouldn't care about you if you weren't Mr. Johnston's sister."
When she heard this, tears further gushed out of her eyes.
“Waaaah!"
Alick let out a long sigh and shook his head.
"Stop crying," he told her like it was an order. Those who had no idea what was happening might really believe that he was bullying her.
“I'm not Isaac's sister... I'm not my father's daughter, nor am I my mother's daughter. I was adopted. Waaaaaah!"
It turned out that Isaac and Nelson had met each other, and Annis happened to overhear their conversation.
She thought that she might be able to glean some information about the cemetery from the conversation between Nelson and Isaac.
However, what ended up happening was that she heard Nelson tell Isaac that she wasn't Cathy's biological child. She was only adopted.
She was adopted!
She wasn't Nelson and Cathy's child.
Nor was she Isaac's half-sister.
She was nothing.
Just an abandoned orphan.
She was just Lucky that Nelson and Cathy decided to adopt her.
The news had come as an awful shock to her, and as a result, she couldn't accept it.
