Chapter: 1224
Another reason was that he didn't want Rowena to know the truth.

Even if she did know, she wouldn't be of any help anyway. She would just get worried.

Camila felt a tightness in her throat as her nose began to clog.

Even though she tried reining in her emotions, the tears still managed to leak out of her eyes. She let out a loud sniffle and said, "Mom, I miss you."

"You're a grown woman already," Rowena said, her voice carrying a hint of reproach. Despite that, her eyes were still red. She composed herself, knowing that today was a special day.

“When Glenda and I received a call from Isaac, we started busying ourselves. As you can see, we've prepared you a table full of delicious food. It has been a while since our family gathered together. The two of you should go and take a shower, and after that, we'll enjoy a nice reunion dinner."

Rowena paused for a while then added, "Don't take too long in the shower, okay?"

Camila smiled and nodded.

"Mom," Joe said out of the blue.

Rowena had taught him to call Camila "Mom" when he saw her.

In truth, he was actually feeling a bit indifferent towards Camila since she had been away from him for such a long time. He was at the point where he had almost forgotten her.

Of course, Rowena knew what a mother cared about the most.

Hearing this, Camila once again tried to fight back her tears. But because of Joe, her walls began to crumble yet again, and tears flooded her face.

"Put me down," she said, her voice choked with sobs.

Isaac nodded and gently put her down.

Then, she approached Joe step by step and squatted down in front of him before giving him a tight hug.

Their bodies were clasped together in an eternal embrace.

Before this, Rowena had told Joe not to push his mother away.

So, Joe didn't move.

"Sorry, sorry..." Camila apologized repeatedly. It was hard for her to keep her emotions in check.
