Chapter: 1561
Camila had just returned from the hospital. She cradled her younger son in her arms while observing Joe playing with building blocks on the carpet. The scene was heartwarming, and it made Forrest feel a pang of envy.
“Hasn't Isaac returned yet?" He sat on the sofa and asked.
"No, he has a lot of work to attend to."
After contemplating for a moment, Forrest continued, “The investigation results came out. It was determined to be an accident."
"I see," Camila replied, her gaze lowered.
"Do you also suspect that Laura might be the one who did it?"
Forrest wasn't naive.
He could deduce such possibilities.
After all, his mother had raised this question as well.
His mother had doubts about Laura, but he believed that her judgment of Laura was still influenced by prejudice.
He refused to believe it.
However, being a close friend of Laura, Camila's suspicion made him consider the possibility that something might be amiss with Laura.
“I just feel that she has changed a little."
Camila evaded a direct answer to the question.
Forrest fixed his gaze on Camila and asserted, "You are Laura's best friend. Even though she has Lost her memory, I hope you can continue treating her the same way. She is still Laura. Don't let any other thoughts cloud your judgment. Even if her character might be different now, it's because of her memory loss."
"I understand." Camila nodded in agreement.
“I have something else to attend to, so I must go now." Forrest stood up.
Camila remained seated and replied, "Then I won't see you off."
Forrest assured her that it wasn't necessary and patted Joe's head before making his way out.
Initially, he had planned to drive to the company, but after pondering for a while, he decided to visit Laura first upon his return.
