"Is something special happening today?" Camila inquired. "They usually don't leave before closing. Why did they leave early?"
"Is this related to your work? If it's not, do I have to answer?"
Hyman countered.
Camila gave him a brief look and said, "You don't have to."
Checking his watch, Hyman noted, "We're due to leave in ten minutes.
“You're my assistant, so you leave when I do," she stated, then added with emphasis, "This is work-related."
Hyman fidgeted nervously, saying, “No, it's the director's goodbye party today. Everyone's there. I really should be there too..."
He abruptly stopped talking.
Covering his mouth, he realized he'd slipped up.
With raised eyebrows, Camila responded, "So, it's the director's goodbye party, huh?"
Hyman frowned. "I was told not to let you know."
"You didn't do that. I overheard it. Where's the party?"
Hyman shook his head, refusing to divulge more.
He couldn't afford another slip-up.
Camila said calmly, “If you won't tell me, I'll find out myself. But if I do, I'll make sure everyone knows you told me about the party and its location."
“Not me," Hyman quickly protested.
“Do you think they'll take your word over mine?" Camila tapped him on the shoulder. “I'll just call the director and get the address.
Your resistance is pointless."
She then reached for her phone.
