Chapter: 1781
Around three in the afternoon, they had enjoyed the snacks and drinks Camila had prepared, so by seven, hunger wasn't an issue.
They were all energetically engaged in their work.
Suddenly, the meeting room door burst open.
The unexpected noise halted their discussion.
Everyone's attention turned towards the door.
Annis poked her head in, then realizing she might have been too hasty, she apologized, “I'm sorry about that. I'm here to see..."
Her eyes turned to Camila.
Glancing at the clock, Camila said, “Give me ten minutes. Wait outside, please."
Annis nodded, closed the door, and stood patiently by the door.
After some time, individuals from the meeting room started to emerge, one by one.
Camila stood at the back of the line, clutching a stack of documents.
“What's going on?" Camila asked.
Annis nodded in response.
Camila dropped off the documents in her office.
Annis was still there by the door, waiting.
As Camila emerged, Annis stepped forward, smiling. “Alick called me today. He wants me to pick a date. I'm heading back to Faymoor to talk to my dad about it."
"That's what things should be like," Camila remarked.
Marriage was a significant matter, best discussed with family elders.
"Is your work keeping you that occupied? You're still in a meeting at this hour. You must be skipping dinner, right? Let me treat you."
Camila intended to head back, but not wanting to make Annis feel awkward, she accepted, “ALright!"
