Chapter: 1840
Alick's voice, filled with urgency, came through the phone.
Alick urgently stated, "We've uncovered leads on those individuals. I've got to head over there."
With the clues located outside the city, his immediate departure was imperative.
Despite being already on his way, he needed to notify Isaac, updating him on his progress and intentions.
Isaac made a small grunt, indicating his acknowledgment, and said, “Feel free to reach out to me anytime if you require assistance."
"Alright," Alick replied.
After ending the call, Isaac turned around, expecting to see Camila.
But she was nowhere to be found, and his heart immediately tightened with concern.
Perhaps too much had transpired for her. Whenever she was faced with something out of the ordinary, negative thoughts would creep into his mind.
As Isaac scanned the surroundings, he noticed her approaching with a bag in her hand.
Furrowing his brows, he hastened his steps towards her.
“Where did you disappear to?" he inquired.
Camila raised her hand to show him what she was carrying. "I bought you some hotdogs. It's late, and there weren't many other options available."
Isaac remained silent, with his gaze fixed on her.
Sensing his hesitation, Camila quickly added, “It's a light dish. If you don't want to eat it, we can head home and have Glenda prepare some late-night snacks for you instead..."
“No, it's not that," he interjected, "I didn't see you when I turned around."
Camila smiled and moved closer. "Do you get anxious if you can't spot me with just a single glance?"
Isaac wrapped his arms around her, pulling her in close. Looking deeply into her eyes, he spoke with a playful but serious tone. "You can't slip away from my sight, even for a moment," he teased, his demeanor a mix of authority and affection.
Her gaze descended to his lips, then shifted to his slender neck, where a prominent Adam's apple radiated an alluring and masculine energy.
"How about becoming my personal bodyguard and shadowing me every day?" she teased, snuggling against his chest.
