Chapter: 1876
Isaac had already explained the story to her.

He had requested her company.

Willie found out some secret details, so he knew the banquet was more than just a chance for rich people to meet and chat. People were talking about how this family wanted to find someone for their child to marry. They were having trouble with their family business and thought marrying into another family could help them solve their problems.

People who were aware of the secret details wouldn't like to be selected.

Sure, they could decline if selected.

But doing so would mean offending the influential family.

It was preferable to avoid being the chosen one.

Camila's role was simple: to be the perfect wife.

She held Isaac's arm affectionately.

Everyone needed an invitation to get in. They had to show theirs at the entrance, ensuring that only the invited could access the event.

Security was tight around the venue.

Upon their entrance, the hall was already full with guests.

In the main hall was a massive circular table, with an opening in the middle like a giant donut. A statue of a semi-nude woman stood in that gap.

The fountain collapsed.

A thin stream of water created a foggy ambiance around the statue, giving it an ethereal look as if it were floating in the clouds.

Elegant crystal chandeliers dangled above, illuminating everything below.

Beside the window, a couch rested against the wall.

The table bore bottles of red and white wine.

Plus, there were delicate and tasty cakes, fruits, and snacks.

The guests clinked their glasses in a toast, chatting and laughing heartily.
