Chapter: 1880
She refused to be a weight on him.
Isaac paused. "Give me a shout if you need anything.”
She gave a quick nod.
Once Isaac left, she scoped the room. It was packed but no one was clocking her.
Off to the restroom she went.
Plopped on the throne, she kicked off her kicks, enjoying a moment's peace before stepping back into the fray.
While scrubbing up, a Clouland beauty primped nearby.
After she caught sight of her, she looked down to Camila's feet.
Camila got the message loud and clear.
The woman had seen her removing her shoes and had judged her for it.
Camila rinsed up calmly, then stepped out.
In the grand, posh hall, surrounded by chit-chatting ladies, she felt like a fish out of water.
Their conversation surrounded fancy stuff and knick-knacks and it might as well have been in another language.
She had no clue which baubles were worth a pretty penny.
She also didn't know that those brands of clothes weren't something any rich person could get with money.
“That necklace you're rocking is stunning," said the restroom beauty.
Camila turned to see her and gave her a polite grin. "Thanks."
"You seem pretty chill and don't seem to realize its worth, huh?"
Camila fingered the necklace. Admittedly, jewelry wasn't her strong suit.
But the sparkle and craftsmanship hinted it wasn't just any old trinket.
