Chapter: 1903
Rowena smiled indulgently, remarking, "Well, your brother does seem to cry a lot."
Camila affectionately rubbed Joe's head and said, "My little man is growing up."
Joe felt proud of the praise and raised his head, looking pleased with himself.
After entering the room, Camila gently set Joe down and gazed at her sleeping baby, Bowen.
Bowen slept peacefully.
Joe playfully poked Bowen's face and remarked, “I wish he were a sister."
Camila was puzzled. “Isn't it nice to have a brother?"
Joe tilted his head and declared, “I prefer a sister."
Camila felt a special connection to Bowen.
She believed that God had compensated for her loss.
Although she had lost one of the twins, Bowen brought a sense of completion back to her life.
"He's also adorable and needs your care," Camila gently reminded Joe.
Joe felt a sense of importance. "Should I protect my brother?"
Camila nodded affirmatively. "Yes, your brother is very young. He can't speak or walk yet. He needs your protection."
Joe grinned proudly.
The group led by the man with a scar on his face grew increasingly impatient upon hearing the news.
“They've captured those people. Are we safe now?"
“They were foolish to apprehend the wrong individuals."
“We can rest easy knowing they're not very sharp."
“Shall we venture out now?"
