Chapter: 1912
"Shh!"
Jeremiah motioned to halt Isaac from speaking further.
Joe rubbed his eyes.
Isaac lifted him gently and inquired in a soft tone, "Did I disturb your sleep?"
Joe shook his head and wrapped his arms around Isaac's neck, murmuring softly, “Dad.”
He was happy. "Mom said that she wanted to sleep with me."
Isaac glanced down at the woman lying on the bed.
She wanted to sleep with her son, and Isaac agreed.
But what about him? Would he have to sleep alone tonight?
He felt as if his son had stolen his place with his wife.
Without him, Camila would not have been able to have a son.
He held Joe and told him, "You go sleep with your brother."
Joe blinked, not realizing his father's intention to separate him from his mother until Isaac placed him on Bowen's bed.
He clasped at Isaac's clothing and protested, “Dad, I want to sleep with Mom, not my brother."
Then he got up.
Isaac felt at a loss.
He watched as his son climbed out of bed and ran back to the room.
He sighed helplessly. Deciding to take a shower, he planned afterward to join them in bed.
But when he finished his shower and headed downstairs, he caught sight of Joe curling up with Camila. There was a challenging glare in Joe's eyes like he was claiming Camila as his own.
Isaac lingered by the bed, gazing at his son for a moment, then gave way and laid down.
