Chapter: 1957
Camila didn't say anything after the operation and only watched as the director was wheeled out of the operating room, her expression stern and unreadable.

“That must have been tough for you," Ernesto commented.

Camila tugged at her Lips. "It was tough for all of us."

She knew the surgery wouldn't have gone smoothly if it weren't for Ernesto's assistance so she looked up to him and said an earnest, “Thank you."

"You're welcome," Ernesto replied.

Still unable to let go of her tension, Camila excused herself and bolted out of the operating room.

After stripping out of her scrubs and washing her hands, she took off the disinfection area.

When Hyman saw her, he immediately approached her, asking worriedly, “How was it, Camila? Was the surgery successful?"

"Yeah," Camila replied with a nod.

“Are you the one who operated on him?" Just then, someone emerging from behind Hyman asked.

Camila looked in the direction of the voice and saw a stranger.

Who the hell was this person?

It didn't take long for her to figure it out. After all, this man resembled the old director.

Camila was sure that this man was the director's son.

Hyman gave Camila a subtle wink, hinting that she should leave.

The director's son was currently in an agitated state, and Hyman didn't want to run the risk of him doing anything to Camila.

After all, she wasn't the director's relative and had no right to ask for this operation, let alone perform it on her own.

Sure, it would be a good thing if she succeeded. The director's family would have nothing to complain about. If anything, they would even be indebted to her.

But what if she failed?

The family would definitely hold her accountable, and they all knew that they would not spare any efforts to do so.
