Chapter: 1988
What Camila had done broke the hospital rules.

The hospital had made a mistake.

If they wanted to address the matter, it would tank their reputation.

Camila had to be used as a scapegoat.

In the resuscitation room, Camila tried saving the director, Kameron Garland. She didn't fail but he was still out cold.

It was still uncertain whether Kameron would regain consciousness or not.

It was also uncertain whether Kameron would encounter such a dangerous situation again in the future, and whether he could be saved again in that eventuality.

Kameron might never wake up.

Or he might not make it...

Camila slumped in the Lounge.

She was totally wiped.

Ernesto sidled up to her and murmured, "You had better brace yourself. Kameron's family's been clued in."

Camila nodded.

"Do you regret it?" Ernesto quizzed.

Camila arched a brow. “Someone asked me the same question."

“How did you respond?" Ernesto leaned in.

“No regrets," Camila affirmed.

She sighed. “If I'm not around later, take care of the patient. Stick to today's process for rescues. If that does not do it, you can give him a heart stent."

“Exactly what I was thinking," Ernesto chimed in. "The artificial heart's blood flow is solid. We just need to widen that narrow valve with a stent."

Camila respected Ernesto's opinion. "I am glad you're here," she said with a grin.
