Chapter: 1998
Almost stepping in, she spotted Alick. She paused. “Alick, could you tell me Isaac's whereabouts?"
Alick shook his head. "No clue, I'm afraid. Isn't he chilling in his office?"
Camila's taken aback.
Was even Alick clueless?
Realizing she was uneasy, Alick inquired, "What's wrong?"
"I can't seem to reach Isaac," Camila replied, shaking her head.
Alick pondered for a moment before suggesting, "Perhaps Mr. Johnston is busy, or his phone died. Don't worry. I'm sure he's fine."
Camila took a deep breath and said, “I'm not worried."
She moved to leave, adding, “I should go now."
Moments later, Alick finally realized something and hurried after her.
Just as Camila was about to enter the elevator, Alick caught up and asked, "Do you need to talk to Mr. Johnston?"
Pausing her step, Camila turned and answered, "No, it's nothing."
“If there's anything I can do to help, just let me know," Alick offered.
After a brief silence, Camila admitted, "It's just a minor thing."
"Why don't you come to my office?" Alick suggested.
Camila followed him to his office where Alick prepared a cup of coffee for her and asked, "What's on your mind?"
Then, he took a seat.
Getting straight to the point, Camila said, "I'm looking for a reliable lawyer. Does the company have someone?"
Alick responded, "We have a skilled legal team here. What do you need advice on? Is it for someone else or...?"
“For myself," Camila confessed. "I'm being sued. It's all my fault."
