Chapter: 2000
She nodded in response.
While waiting, Camila sipped her coffee. Soon, Alick returned, accompanied by a man dressed sharply in a suit and leather shoes.
The legal department's usual duties didn't cover Camila's issue, but Isaac had hired this lawyer for his exceptional skills.
After hearing Camila out, he confidently stated, "You're trying to help someone, and that doesn't make you liable for causing harm intentionally. The fact that the patient chose you as the new director of the research institute clearly shows his trust in you before he passed out. Whether the patient survives or not, I'll handle it for you."
Camila gazed at the bespectacled lawyer, utterly amazed by his perspective.
She greatly respected his expertise and was surprised by his unique approach.
Upon hearing what the lawyer said, Alick chimed in to ease Camila's nerves, “If he believes he can manage it, then he surely can."
Nodding, Camila asked a few more questions.
Being sued for the first time, she felt lost.
After half an hour, the lawyer had explained the basic legal proceedings to her, giving her a clearer understanding of how he would assist.
Relieved, she left the office.
It had been two hours since her first call to Isaac.
She dialed his number again.
He still hadn't picked up the phone.
Frowning, she felt a tad worried.
Why was it so hard to reach him?
Even Alick was clueless about his whereabouts, which seemed too strange.
Nervous as heck, she forgot to tell Eagle to head home when she got in the car. Eagle had driven for a while but still hadn't heard the destination. He then asked, “Where are we headed?"
Camila felt totally stuck.
Isaac was nowhere to be found and she had stuff to sort out.
