Chapter: 2030
He survived?
Did it mean the surgery was a success and saved his life?
Camila wanted to smile and celebrate, but she was too stunned to.
After being crucified for days on end, she could no longer find genuine joy in the outcome.
No one took her side.
Kameron's family even accused her and wanted her to be put in jail!
Now that the ray of hope finally shone on her, Camila found it hard to experience the joy without feeling a pang of hurt.
"I checked up on him. He's looking pretty well. There should be no problem," Ernesto added, gauging her stunned reaction.
Camila nodded and flashed a faint smile, acknowledging the news and masking the tiny worry in her heart.
She didn't feel relieved yet, though.
Only when she saw Kameron alive and well with her own eyes would she be rest assured.
As if reading her mind, Ernesto said to reassure her, "Let's look at the bright side. Now that the patient has woken up, proving the surgery had been successful, those people will stop coming for you."
It was true.
At least, she would be free from those people's unjust scrutiny.
"You're right. Anyway, if you're busy, you can go ahead. You've done a lot to help me, so thank you," Camila said earnestly.
Ernesto waved his hand dismissively. “Don't mention it. I just did my job as a doctor. You wait here for a sec. I'll check inside and see what's going on."
“sure," Camila replied curtly.
After Ernesto left for the examination room, Camila sat on the bench outside and waited.
Just then, her phone rang.
It was someone from the court informing her that Tyrese didn't withdraw the Lawsuit.
