Chapter: 2038
Eagle didn't ask any further questions and quickly went to fetch the car.
With Hyman's assistance, Camila managed to get into the vehicle.
Eagle took the driver's seat.
As they drove to the hospital, Hyman asked with concern, “Are you feeling any better?"
Camila did feel an improvement. Initially, she had experienced a sudden sharp pain. "Much better now," she responded, her complexion returning to normal.
Hyman let out a relieved sigh. “You've been under a lot of stress lately. Seeing Mr. Garland faint must have really rattled you. That's probably why your stomach is upset."
Camila couldn't recall eating anything that was cold or spoiled.
Maybe it wasn't the food at all, or perhaps Hyman was right.
"Probably!" she agreed.
By the time they reached the hospital, her abdominal pain had nearly vanished.
She opened the door and stepped out of the car.
Alick stopped her and said with a serious expression, "What are you doing here?"
"I'm here to see Mr. Garland..."
"Don't bother. He's dead. Go home quickly. This place is a mess now. Stay out of it."
Camila nearly lost her balance. Clutching the doorframe, she asked in disbelief, “Dead? He's really dead?"
"Yes," Alick confirmed.
“How could this happen? How could this happen?" She was struggling to accept the news.
"It's the truth. We need to go back and figure out what to do next."
Alick tried to reassure her, "This isn't your fault. Don't dwell on, Camila got into the car."
Alick instructed Eagle to keep a close watch on her. "Make sure she stays in the car. I need to handle something else and will be back soon."
