She cared deeply for him, yet she found it difficult to express it verbally.
She couldn't bring herself to tell him about the biochemical pregnancy.
Isaac looked down at her, and she quickly turned her face away, tears streaming down her cheeks.
She feigned nonchalance, trying to maintain her composure. "Don't look at me. I'll get embarrassed," she murmured.
Isaac tucked Camila in and nodded understandingly. "I see."
"I'm tired. I just want to sleep," she mumbled, pulling the quilt over her head.
Isaac watched her for a moment, his gaze deepening, before he replied in a gentle tone, "Alright, get some rest."
He quietly left the room, gently closing the door behind him.
Descending the stairs, he called out, “Eagle.”
Eagle promptly approached.
Isaac queried, “Did anything happen today?"
Eagle pondered for a moment before shaking his head. "No, sir," he replied hesitantly.
“Are you sure?" Isaac's intense gaze was intimidating, causing even the formidable Eagle to avert his eyes.
Eagle lowered his head, admitting, "I... I'm sure."
Upon careful reflection, he realized nothing out of the ordinary had occurred.
The only noteworthy event was Camila's hospital visit, but she had instructed him to keep it confidential.
He couldn't betray her trust.
Eagle found himself in a dilemma.
"Mr. Johnston..." he began cautiously, choosing his words carefully.
"Tyrese... He accosted Mrs. Johnston at the research institute's gate."
