Chapter: 2089
Laura didn't want to leave the conversation unresolved.
Her mood changed a lot.
She stated clearly, "If I still have feelings for him, I won't marry you. I hope you can trust me. You are my support; do you understand?"
Upon hearing this, Morrison kissed her hair softly and said, "I understand. I said something wrong today and upset you. It won't happen again."
Laura shook her head and explained, "No, that's not what I'm trying to say."
She paused, thinking deeply before revealing, "The day we arrived here, the man we saw in the hotel was my ex-boyfriend."
"I know," Morrison replied calmly.
Laura wasn't surprised by his reaction.
"I should have realized sooner that you already knew." She looked down. "I didn't mean to keep it from you. I just didn't want to make you uncomfortable..."
"Don't worry about it," Morrison reassured her as he held her hand.
"I was aware of your past when I chose to marry you. It never bothered me."
Laura closed her eyes, moved by his acceptance.
"If only I didn't have this child, it would be easier for me to be with you."
Morrison furrowed his brow, “Why would you say such things? I was the one who supported your decision to keep the baby. Remember, a child is a new life. And with this child, we can still have a good life together."
He sighed, “I know you're feeling guilty, but honestly, it doesn't matter to me whether the baby is biologically mine or not."
Laura responded with a raspy voice, “Thank you."
Morrison embraced her even tighter and said, "Don't thank me out of courtesy. You're my only family now. With you, I don't feel alone. I owe you a thank you as well."
Laura answered, "So we don't need to thank each other."
"Yes, then let's sleep," Morrison suggested.
"Okay." Laura agreed, settling into Morrison's arms.
