Chapter: 2109
With Glenda's condition stabilized, Camila's tension dissipated.
She released a prolonged exhale, a weight lifting from her chest.
Camila sat inside the ward, waiting for Glenda to wake up.
After about an hour, Glenda finally became conscious.
It wasn't a serious illness, but it still happened so suddenly.
The operation she had undergone was nothing major. Still, it had taken a toll on her body.
Camila stood up, tucking Glenda under the quilt. “How are you feeling?"
Glenda felt a slight lethargy, but nothing more than that.
“I am alright."
“That's good to hear," said Camila.
Glenda looked at her and said, "Your mom must be really busy now at home. She's taking care of all the family affairs by herself."
She moved to stand up.
Camila tugged the quilt that she was about to lift and said, “Just rest. I'll help Mom out with the family affairs. And even if that's still not enough, we can always find someone else to help. For now, just focus on taking care of yourself.”
Glenda sighed. “I'm not gonna be able to relax at the hospital.”
"You should stay here and rest. That's the best way you can help me take care of my family," Camila said.
Her words left Glenda with no choice but to lie back down. “I've gotten old. I get sick frequently now."
Camila said, "I've checked the CT scans, and it's nothing serious. If you take your medicine, you'll be well in no time. Don't be afraid."
"I'm not afraid," Glenda said with a smile.
"You can go back now. Help your mom with taking care of the family. I don't need help here anyway," she added.
But despite her reassurances, Camila couldn't help but worry.
