Chapter: 2120
"The patient has agreed to sign a guarantee certificate with us Hyman explained. "If anything happens, it won't be our responsibility."
“Do you think it's feasible?" asked Camila.
Hyman was stunned.
Camila was usually decisive, and her hesitation now was uncharacteristic.
“Remember, Mr. Garland's death wasn't our fault," Hyman reassured her.
"Someone else was responsible, and we did everything we could. There's no need to keep worrying."
"I'm not worried about being to blame," Camila replied, her voice heavy.
If it hadn't been for Isaac's intervention, she would not have gotten rid of it.
This decision required careful consideration.
Noticing the items Camila had packed on her desk, Hyman frowned. “Why are you packing up?"
Camila met his gaze. "Hyman, I'm not going to hide it from you-I'm planning to resign."
"Why?"
Hyman asked, clearly puzzled.
"With the approval and implementation of the artificial heart on the horizon, do you really want to leave now?"
Hyman was clearly upset by the news.
"You want to leave at such a crucial time? Unbelievable. You know what? I'm not taking any of this. I'll just pretend that I didn't hear anything," he lamented.
Camila sat down and sighed. "But I'm serious."
Hyman's expression hardened, his displeasure potent as he retorted, “Everyone hated you and tried to trip you up when you first came here. Now that they have finally seen your ability and acknowledged you, you will leave? If I had known you wouldn't stay for long, I wouldn't have accepted you in the first place. I know it's been tough for you, but those hurdles are part of our profession. All of your seniors have faced similar or much worse issues in the past. But you, after Mr. Garland's incident, you want to quit? Tell me. Do you really like this job?"
Understanding Hyman's rage, Camila lowered her gaze and kept silent.
Of course, she liked her job. If it were only up to her, she wouldn't resign, especially not now.
