Chapter: 2208
"I've sent men to search the area, and the police are involved too,"
Alick continued hurriedly.
A metallic tang filled Camila's mouth as a wave of nausea washed over her.
She clenched her fists, her nails digging into her palms.
Painfully, she inquired, “Any updates on his whereabouts?"
“None," Alick admitted, his gaze falling.
Panic clawed at Camila's throat. "Where did it happen? I need to be there."
“Mrs. Johnston..." Alick began, his voice trailing off.
“Don't stop me," Camila interrupted sharply.
"You need to stay here," Alick insisted. "The children need you. They can't be left alone. I'll go and handle this."
Camila shook her head, her voice resolute. "I can't leave him either."
By "him," she referred to Isaac.
Alick knew the depth of her love for Isaac.
However, a thought crossed Camila's mind-it was too dangerous to go there without knowing whether it was an accident or something deliberate.
She couldn't risk leaving her children.
Camila's mind raced.
Taking a deep, steadying breath, she forced herself to think clearly.
“Alick," she said, her voice gaining strength, “let's take the children to Clouland."
Isaac's words echoed in her mind.
He had mentioned his plans for a new life there, a villa waiting for them. It made sense.
