She greeted him with a reassuring smile and said, “I've brought some homemade soup for Laura. My mother insists it's excellent for new mothers."

“Thank you. I was just about to get some food," Camila responded gratefully.

"I'll take care of the meals from now on," Colin declared. "The food they serve here isn't very nutritious."

Camila expressed her gratitude again, "Thank you so much."

"Don't mention it," Colin replied with a smile, his face brightening.

He then pushed the door open and entered the room, carrying the tray.

Just as Camila was about to follow him inside, her phone buzzed in her pocket.

She quickly pulled it out.

It was Alick's number.

Could it be news about Isaac?

She picked up the call immediately.

"Hello?"

Camila's nervous voice trembled as she laid eyes on Laura. Stepping back, she pressed against the wall outside the ward, taking a moment to compose herself before speaking in a hushed tone. "Is there any news about Isaac?"

There was a pregnant pause. “It's not good news."

Camila's heart sank.

ALL at once, she felt her strength drain away.

She couldn't even bring herself to listen.

She dreaded hearing any bad news.

However, Alick felt compelled to inform her.

“Mr. Johnston's accident has been exposed."
