Chapter: 2261
Her mental state was severely strained.
"I've arranged for Willie to return home. You can accompany him after attending to your domestic matters. Forrest is still actively searching for Mr. Johnston. Don't fret. Since Willie is unharmed, Mr. Johnston should be as well."
"Okay," Replied Camila.
She then hung up the phone and sat on the bench, lost in thought.
Camila felt an overwhelming sense of helplessness in that moment.
Facing the current predicament alone seemed daunting without Alick, Willie, and Forrest by her side.
"Miss Haynes."
Colin emerged from the ward carrying a lunch box.
Camila lifted her head.
Regaining her composure, she inquired, “Has Laura finished her meal?"
Colin nodded, "Yes, she's much more energetic now that she knows Mr. Armstrong is alright. You wouldn't believe it, but on the day of Morrison's surgery, she faced difficulties during childbirth. The doctor recommended a cesarean, but she refused. She declared that if Mr. Armstrong didn't make it, she'd follow suit. She didn't even consider the baby. It was truly alarming.”
Camila was incredulous. "Shouldn't Morrison's child be brought forth by her if anything happened to him?"
"Yes, you are correct. That's Morrison's blood. If he couldn't survive, at least his child could remain. I was unsure of her thoughts then. Fear likely consumed her."
Colin thought that Laura's stubbornness stemmed from her confused mind.
Yet, Camila disagreed.
What was Laura's previous occupation?
She worked as a forensic expert!
A forensic expert requires a steady heart and a mind that can always keep composed.
So how could Laura be confused by fear?
Rather than revealing her perplexity to Colin, Camila simply grinned.
