She then hung up the phone and sat on the bench, lost in thought.

The doctor recommended a cesarean, but she refused. She declared that if Mr. Armstrong didn't make it, she'd follow suit. She didn't even consider the baby. It was truly alarming.”

Camila was incredulous. "Shouldn't Morrison's child be brought forth by her if anything happened to him?"

"Yes, you are correct. That's Morrison's blood. If he couldn't survive, at least his child could remain. I was unsure of her thoughts then. Fear likely consumed her."
