Chapter: 2277
Who were these people?
Nerves taut, Isaac lay still, straining to pick up any sounds around him.
The quietness of the room suggested he was alone, but he could hear faint noises in the distance.
It must be the vineyard the woman had mentioned.
Meanwhile, Camila's head throbbed with frustration.
Alick's message had given her hope, only to dash it once again with uncertainty.
Clenching her temples in frustration, she pondered the situation.
“What if... What if Isaac is indeed in Darnley's hands?" she mused aloud.
Alick, unable to provide definite assurance, suggested, "Send him a message informing him that we're willing to meet Mr. Johnston. If we can meet him, we might consider his request."
"I already suggested that, but he refused," Camila reiterated.
Alick lapsed into silence.
No one could conjure up a viable solution.
Forrest's continued inability to locate Isaac only deepened their sense of helplessness.
If Isaac were as resilient as Willie, he would have returned by now.
Darnley claimed to have Isaac, but his refusal to provide proof left them at an impasse.
“Is there any way to track down Darnley?" Camila proposed.
"No," Alick responded bluntly. “He's likely in hiding. He knows what he's done. There's no way he'd surface now."
Camila dialed the number from the message she received, but her attempts to reach Darnley were futile.
"His information didn't come through the standard communication channels," Alick explained.
Without that data, they couldn't pinpoint his whereabouts.
