Chapter: 2279
It was uncanny, yet Camila knew instinctively that it was not him.

Another message blinked onto the screen.

"I have given you Isaac's picture. You should believe me now."

"This is not Isaac!" Camila's fingers flew across the screen in response, her conviction unwavering.

Willie frowned, his confusion evident in the furrow of his brow.

"Mrs. Johnston, I think it is Mr. Johnston."

"No. It's not him," Camila asserted, her voice tinged with a steely resolve.

“How can you be sure?" Willie pressed on, his skepticism hanging in the air like a heavy shroud. "This man's figure and clothes are identical to Mr. Johnston's, and he is shrouded in darkness, a black cloth on his head. You can't see him clearly. How can you be certain that he is not Mr. Johnston?"

Camila met his gaze, her eyes ablaze with determination.

“Do you know why this photo doesn't show this man's face?" Camila posed the question, her voice laced with a quiet intensity.

Both Forrest and Alick exchanged knowing glances, comprehension dawning in their eyes as they pieced together Camila's reasoning.

Yet, Willie remained mired in confusion, his brow furrowed with uncertainty.

"Why?" he inquired, his voice tinged with frustration.

“Because this is not Isaac!" Camila's words cut through the tension like a knife through butter. "Darnley doesn't dare to reveal this person's face in the photo."

He only captured an image of a man bearing a passing resemblance to Isaac.

He thought it was enough to deceive them and manipulate Camila into complying with his demands.

Yet, Darnley had underestimated Camila's resolve.

Isaac was not just a husband to her; he was her confidant and her other half.

She knew him better than anyone; no imposter could ever hope to fool her discerning eye. How could she get deceived as to whether this man was him or not?

A fake was a fake.
