"It's Alick. He says there's been an incident."

Isaac took the call.

Alick's voice sounded worried over the phone.

“Where are you?" Alick's voice crackled through the phone.

Isaac glanced around the dimly lit street, then replied, "Stone Rowans. Why?"

“Leave there quickly!" Alick's tone was urgent, almost panicked.

Before Isaac could respond, the line went dead, leaving him with a furrowed brow and a sense of foreboding. “We need to move," he said to Forrest, his voice tight with tension.

"But I'm starving," Forrest protested.

Isaac clenched his jaw. "We don't have time for dinner. We have to go. Now!" He felt the weight of their pursuers bearing down on them.

Alick wouldn't have sounded so desperate if the situation wasn't dire.

His mind raced with worry for Alick's safety.

The sudden disconnection signaled trouble.

"Get behind the wheel," Camilla ordered Willie urgently.

"The car's still not fixed properly..." Willie protested weakly.

Camilla blinked her eyes impatiently. "We don't have a choice. Just do it. Hurry!"

Though the car's rear windshield was shattered, they had to make do.

It was now or never.

Willie scrambled to obey, the urgency in Camilla's voice leaving no room for argument.

With Camilla gripping Isaac's arm tightly, they hurried away, leaving Forrest bewildered. "Who are they? Why are they after us?" he asked, voice trembling, scanning their surroundings.

Isaac felt a cold knot of dread settle in his stomach. They were being hunted because they stumbled upon something dangerous, something someone didn't want exposed.
