His was quite tall, and he looked gentle as he soothed the child.
She approached, wrapping her arms around his waist from behind and peering at the baby.
"She is hungry," Morrison noted.
Laura nodded and reached out. "Give her to me."
Morrison carefully transferred the baby into Laura's arms.
Laura sat on the edge of the bed, holding her daughter.
As she began to undress to nurse, she realized Morrison was still in the room. She looked up at him and said, "Could you step out for a moment?"
"Okay," Morrison replied without hesitation.
He left promptly, understanding that Laura might need some privacy.
After feeding and changing the baby, Laura played with her until she fell asleep.
She then laid Honey down and changed into fresh clothes. When she emerged, she noticed Morrison had washed their laundry.
Leaning against the doorframe, she watched as Morrison entered with a basin. "Are you ready to go?" he asked.
Laura nodded.
"Let's go!"
He set down the basin.
“I should be the one taking care of you," Laura said.
“What are you talking about?" Morrison asked, his tone gentle.
"I'm willing to take care of you," he explained. "I won't always have the time like I do now. After the holiday, I'll be busy again. You don't need to feel guilty. Taking care of Honey is no small task."
Laura nodded, touched by his words.
Morrison then went to pick up the baby, and they prepared to leave the house.
