Chapter: 2493
The standoff lasted until Honey's cry broke the silence. Forrest approached Laura and looked down at the child.

"You hold her," Laura said.

Forrest carefully, yet awkwardly, reached out to take the baby.

Laura prepared a bottle of milk powder, checking its temperature before handing it to Forrest.

It was his first time feeding a child, and his hands were stiff.

"Just put it in her mouth," Laura instructed.

Forrest followed her direction, and the baby quieted immediately.

Gazing at his daughter, Forrest felt a softness in his heart.

“Thank you for giving me my daughter," he said.

Laura remained silent.

"If you don't want to talk about it, I won't ask. I was too emotional earlier. I'm sorry."

"You are not wrong," Laura replied.

The situation was simply none of his business.

“Her name is Sariah," she added after a pause, hinting at something more with her tone.

She implied that the baby could bear Forrest's surname.

Forrest understood and nodded.

“When Mila comes back, you can leave," Laura said without asking them to stay.

Her tone suggested she wanted them to leave as soon as possible.

“Really? Don't you need us to do anything?" Forrest asked, looking up at her.

Laura shook her head. "You can't help. Just take care of the child."
