Chapter: 2562
This cloth was designed to cover just the bare essentials, leaving little to the imagination.
She felt a mix of happiness and excitement as she held it.
But it wasn't just the garment that stirred her emotions; it was the thought of Alick's reaction when he laid eyes on her wearing such provocative attire.
Would he be stunned into silence? Would he reach out to her, his fingers trembling with desire? The mere thought of it sent shivers down her spine and ignited a fire within her that she could not ignore.
With a mischievous smile, Annis made a decision. She would surprise Alick and give him a gift he would never forget.
After a refreshing shower, Alick came out from the bathroom, his hair damped and tousled. He glanced around, curious. “Have you opened the gift?" he asked.
Annis looked up from where she was sitting, her expression calm. "Yes," she replied simply.
Alick's curiosity deepened. “What is it?" he pressed.
In his mind, he was already guessing.
It was probably some piece of jewelry; a necklace or a bracelet, perhaps.
Women loved those kinds of things, after all.
"Nothing," Annis replied, a hint of mischief in her eyes.
"Nothing? What do you mean by nothing?" Alick asked, perplexed.
“I'm gonna take a shower," Annis said, standing up and making her way towards the bathroom without answering his question.
Alick chuckled, shaking his head. “What are you up to? We just got married, and you're already keeping secrets from me? What's so valuable that you can't show me?"
Annis paused at the bathroom door, turning to face him with a playful smile. "It's priceless," she said softly. "Of course, I can't show it to you so easily."
Alick didn't press further.
Instead, he let a soft smile play on his lips.
He lay back on the bed and waited for Annis to come back.
Although they had been together all the time, an invisible divide seemed to linger between them.
