Chapter: 2591
Forrest's bold words drew a cold stare from everyone.

“Okay, okay, I'm sorry," Forrest apologized.

Camila held Joe close, suggesting he take a nap, whispering that the plane would land by the time he awoke.

Joe couldn't sleep, so instead, Camila fetched him some food and a painting book to keep him occupied. Still, Joe remained wide awake.

By the time he fell asleep, the plane had landed.

Isaac disembarked with Joe cradled in his arms. He had arranged everything in advance.

Rowena, alongside all the servants, had prepared the house and was waiting at the door. They were ready to provide a welcoming rest and a hearty meal.

In the privacy of their bedroom, Camila revealed to Isaac the urgent reason for her swift return — it was all because of Laura.

How could Isaac possibly hold her back?

"I'll go with you," he offered.

"No need. You have a lot of work to handle. Just have Eagle accompany me," Camila insisted.

Isaac wanted to protest, but Camila wrapped her arms around his waist, coaxing, "Please, listen to me, okay?"

Isaac gently stroked her hair. "Call me if you need anything. Don't take any unnecessary risks," he cautioned.

Camila nodded emphatically, not pausing even to drink water before she rushed off to catch a soon-departing flight.

Meanwhile, Forrest was in his room tending to his daughter. During dinner, noticing Camila's absence, he queried, “Where is Mila?"

Isaac looked up but remained silent.

Forrest, realizing his slip, defended his informal reference, "It's just that I addressed her in the way you usually do. Why does it bother you so much?"

Isaac, uninterested in prolonging the conversation, retorted, “Can't eating shut your mouth?"

Forrest was left speechless. Alick and Annis struggled to contain their amusement.

"You two are indeed a match. Both equally vexing," Forrest remarked.

Alick retorted, “As annoying as you? Why can't you just keep quiet?"

Forrest was left without a reply once more.

After disembarking, Camila hailed a taxi and sped off to Starhaven.

She contacted the police officer who had reached out to her earlier.

Led by the officer, she found herself sitting quietly in the back of a police car, not asking any questions as they drove.

When the car halted at the hospital's entrance, a sense of dread washed over her.

Hesitating, she remained seated and asked, “Is Laura in the hospital?"

"Yes," the officer replied as he stepped out of the vehicle first and gestured for her to follow. "You can come out now."

Eagle opened the car door for her. She peered out, took a deep breath, and stepped outside.

Standing beside the car, she looked up for a brief moment before following the officer into the hospital.

They traversed the corridor and arrived at a specific ward where the officer turned to her and cautioned, "You need to be prepared for what you're about to see."
