Chapter: 391
Whenever one lacked something, he thirsted for it greedily.

Trudy was no exception.

She seized any and every opportunity to introduce herself as Marvin's wife, even though she was just his mistress.

“Doctor, what's my husband's prognosis?" she asked anxiously.

“It's not that serious, so don't worry too much. I recommend he go through another check-up."

As he spoke, the doctor wrote up a note for Marvin and handed it to him, saying, "You can go now. I'll have a word with your wife."

Frowning, Marvin had a sinking feeling about this.

“Doctor, if you have anything to say, just say it. Don't hide it from me. I can take it."

The doctor hesitated for a moment before finally saying, “Okay.”

He looked at the examination results again and said, "There's a malignant tumor in your brain."

Marvin had mentally prepared himself for the worst, but when he heard it come from the doctor's mouth, all the color still drained from his face.

Trudy was the first to react. After all, she relied on Marvin to live.

“He just has a cough. How could he have brain cancer? This has to be a mistake!"

The doctor explained, “It's not uncommon for the cancer to spread to the throat and Lungs, hence the dry cough.”

"No! You're wrong!" Trudy shouted angrily. Marvin didn't have the strength to scold her. "Leave first," he ordered her weakly.

But Trudy ignored him. "I'll take you to another hospital. The doctors here are all quacks! How could they say your cough is related to cancer? They're not professional at all—"

“Enough! Marvin snapped. This woman was so annoying! He was already in a bad mood, yet she kept pestering him.

Trudy shut up, albeit reluctantly.

Feeling somewhat embarrassed, Marvin apologized to the doctor shamefacedly. "Sorry about that."

The doctor waved his hand nonchalantly to show his understanding.

He had seen worse than this.

“How Long do I have?" Marvin asked in a trembling voice, trying his best to suppress his sadness.

There wasn't a soul in this world who could stare death in the face unflinchingly .

At the end of the day, everyone was afraid of death.

Marvin was no exception.
