Chapter: 776
Did he think she was playing around with him?

“Well, now that I've told you what I called to say, I'll hang up now. I have work to do," she said and hung up immediately

Isaac looked at the phone and smiled, seeming deep in his thoughts Willie turned around in this moment and saw Isaac smiling. With raised eyebrows, he asked curiously, "What's funny?"

The smile on his face fell instantly. "Is it your business?"

“No, I'm sorry," Willie quickly said and turned away.

Alick almost burst into laughter when he saw this.

Then he brought his mouth close to Willie's ear and whispered, "So you lose all your tough act in front of him, huh?"

Willie rolled his eyes at him and retorted, “As if you aren't just as scared as I am of him."

“I may be, but I'm not a coward Like you." Willie crossed his arms haughtily and rolled his eyes at him.

Isaac looked at both men and said, "It's not time to let your guard down. Keep a vigilant eye on the company's affairs."

"Yes, sir," Alick answered with a firm nod. Now that Audrey was arrested, Hexagon Inc. went bankrupt, and with that, the investment of the Paramount Corporation in Hexagon Inc. was revealed.

Naturally, the shareholders were angry and panicked. They immediately called for a meeting and called on Robin to preside over the meeting, but he was in the hospital. The old man fell ill after finding out that Gunter was stabbed.

So, they had to hold the meeting without a host.

Travis was present, but he didn't take the seat of the host. While the shareholders pointed fingers at him and cursed him, he stayed silent and kept a poker face.

“How could you invest in Hexagon Inc.? You don't even know much about the research, yet you jumped right in and invested so much money. To make things worse, you sold two profitable projects of the company. You owe us a hell of an explanation."

“That's right. We were stupid to think you would bring our company to glory, but we were downright wrong. Now because of your stupid actions, the whole company is on the verge of collapsing. Just know that if we fall because of this investment you made, you'll pay for it dearly."

"We were so stupid to choose you as CEO. Isaac is the only capable man in the Johnston family. The rest of you--losers!"

That was the Last straw for Travis. He had had enough of their insults. He glared at the shareholder who just spoke.

The shareholder returned his glare and asked boldly, “Why the stare? Huh? Am I wrong?"

Travis smashed his teacup on the table in anger and finally broke his silence.

“Do not forget that all of you voted me into this position. So if the company is in a crisis now and is losing money, you all asked for it," he said coldly, then walked out and slammed the door shut behind him.

The shareholders looked at each other in stunned silence.

What could they say?

He was right. They were the ones that made him CEO of the company. They were partly, if not just as much responsible for what was happening.

“We could ask Isaac for help. He is very good in this and can turn things back around," a shareholder suddenly suggested, breaking the awkward silence in the room.
