Chapter: 3182
Alexis didn't say anything in response.
At this point, they had reached a red light, so Leonel stopped the car and looked at Alexis through the rearview mirror. "Why aren't you saying anything?" he asked in a low voice.
Alexis smiled, but still remained silent.
She knew Marcus better than Leonel did. Marcus was a member of the Fowler family. Once a Fowler liked someone, it was difficult for them to change their minds about that person.
Besides, love was not something that could easily be gotten rid of.
But Leonel didn't understand any of this even though he'd been in a lot of relationships.
Nevertheless, he seemed to sense something in her silence and he asked her, "You were fine just a minute ago. Why are you suddenly mad at me now?"
"I'm not mad at you. I just don't want to talk right now," Alexis explained and then she changed the topic. “By the way, I heard from your secretary that you're going on a business trip this weekend."
By this time, the light had turned green and Leonel stepped on the gas.
It was evening. But in the distance, the golden orb of the sun was slowly sinking. Before long, the ground was covered by dusk and the streetlights came on.
"It's been delayed," Leonel said in answer to her question. "It has now been rescheduled to a fortnight away."
Thinking that the rescheduling was probably due to the fact that he was worried about Evelyn, Alexis said to assure him, “There is no court trial this week, so don't worry, I can take Evelyn with me to the law firm."
Leonel didn't say anything in response. He seemed to be focused only on driving.
Alexis thought that was it. But when Leonel rolled the car to a stop at the parking lot of the villa, he unfastened his seat belt and said all of a sudden, "This week is your fertile window."
Alexis was stunned.
When she finally found her voice, she murmured, “That should be after my period."
“There's also a fertile window before your period. I heard women usually get extremely needy during this time. What? Don't you feel needy at all?"
Alexis didn't say anything. She just looked at the lights in the house and the servants inside doing their jobs.
She was too ashamed to discuss this issue with him.
Besides, Evelyn was still right there with them in the car.
