She couldn't help but feel envious of the kids on the photos. If only she was as happy as them when she was a child.

Even though Melissa didn't say this out loud, Rena seemed to have read her mind.

She patted the back of Melissa's hand and said with a smile, "There are many kids around now and the house is very lively. If you like, you can move in with Marcus when you two get married. In fact, Marcus has always wanted to have a baby girl."

This statement from Rena immediately reminded Melissa of the fact that Marcus no longer wore condoms whenever they had sex these days.

And she wasn't on the pill either.

Yet, she had not gotten pregnant.

Eventually, Matthew was to stay with his grandparents for a few days.

Marcus and Melissa kissed him goodbye and left.

As Marcus drove, he turned to glance at Melissa and asked casually, “What did you and my mom talk about earlier upstairs?"

“She gave me several sets of jewelry,” Melissa replied honestly.

At this point, Marcus stopped at a red light and turned around to take a look at the boxes Melissa had received.

Then he turned his attention back to Melissa and asked her, "You don't resist it anymore, do you?"

Knowing that Marcus was deliberately mocking her, Melissa retorted, "Well, I guess it's not too late to return these.

“It seems someone is upset," Marcus chuckled and reached out to pinch her face.

But just then, the green light came on, so Marcus had to start the car again. "Well," Melissa said after a moment of silence, “your mother mentioned you wanted a baby girl. We've been together for a while, but I still haven't conceived. Maybe there's something wrong with either of us? How about we go to the hospital to find out what the problem is?"

For a long time, Marcus didn't say anything.

Finally, he asked in a low voice, "You want another child? Don't you want to focus solely on your career for now?"

“Marcus, I'm very serious about this," Melissa told him in a firm tone. "Let's go to the hospital and get examined."

Marcus glanced at her and replied with a scoff, "Come on, don't be ridiculous. There's nothing wrong with either of us. If there was, how could we have had Matthew? The reason you haven't gotten pregnant yet may be because we have sex too frequently. If you really want to have another child, then we will reduce the frequency of our lovemaking."

He sounded so serious that Melissa was left speechless after listening to him.
