Chapter: 3892
"I'm Jessie's boyfriend," he added, glancing at Jessie's face with a smile.
But this was not true. They had only just met and had, so far, had only one cup of coffee. But Jessie didn't refute his claim. In fact, she did not say anything in response.
"Really?" the Albert asked slowly, looking at Jessie for confirmation.
“Have you told Melissa about it?" he asked when he got no response.
“She never told me anything about this. By the way, Mr. Calderon, Melissa is the acting CEO at Waston Group and also a good friend of Jessie's. They've known each other for many years."
His words instantly made Jessie look dignified and elevated in the eyes of Axell.
In fact, Axell was surprised to hear this information Albert had just divulged.
Nonetheless, he was not a stranger to the name Melissa. He knew that she was Marcus' wife.
And he also knew that Marcus was the CEO of Fowler Group, which was currently the most valuable company in Duefron.
Axell was well aware of the fact that Jessie used to be rich, but he never expected that she could still be in contact with so many billionaires even after her family's bankruptcy. Though she was now an ordinary woman, but since she still had great connections, he was sure that she would be very helpful to him in the future.
As a result, he felt even more satisfied with her.
His intention was not difficult to figure out. Jessie knew what he wanted; she didn't like it but kept her feelings to herself.
As for Axell, since his so-called girlfriend knew Albert, he was determined to use the opportunity to his benefit. In fact, he immediately wanted to invite Albert to chat with him over a cup of coffee. After all, this was a kind of opportunity that one did not find every day.
But when he expressed his wish out loud, Albert refused with a smile.
"I'm with my daughter," he said, leaning sideways and pointing at a car outside. “She's still waiting for me in the car. So, I can't stay for too long. Besides, Haven't you already had a cup of coffee?
Excessive caffeine consumption can have negative effects on the skin, particularly for women."
"You're right, Mr. Waston," Axell echoed immediately.
Taking his coffee, Albert nodded goodbye to them. "I should go back to Jessie. Excuse me," he said and turned to leave.
Axell was taken aback by this statement.
Albert noticed this, so he stopped in his tracks and explained properly. "My daughter's name is Jeslyn. But sometimes, I just call her Jess or Jessie. What a coincidence, right, Jessie?"
