Chapter: 3901
As they sat in the car, he asked curiously, “You seemed rather indifferent towards Mr. Waston back there. Is it because you dislike him or because of his reputation?"
Jessie didn't want to talk about the past.
So she shrugged and said lightly, "Yes, I simply don't care for him!
Anyway, the little girl won't stick with it for long. Let's mind our own business, okay?"
After a moment of contemplation, Axell spoke again. "I'm not fond of that kid either. She's too precocious for her age. But Jessie, sometimes you have to compromise... I know you're used to a wealthy lifestyle, but things are different now, right?"
Jessie remained silent, her gaze fixed on the road ahead.
Axell genuinely cared for her.
Quickly, he apologized, "I didn't mean to upset you, Jessie. Please forgive me. If teaching the little girl becomes too challenging, I'll help you talk her out of it, alright?"
Jessie turned to him and said firmly, "You must promise not to pressure me into anything in the future like you just did earlier."
Axell leaned over, intending to kiss her cheek, but then opted to kiss her forehead instead. After dismissing the driver, Albert planned to drive himself.
Just as he was about to start the car, he caught sight of the scene.
Seeing Axell gently kiss Jessie's forehead, Albert gripped the steering wheel tightly. When Axell settled back into his seat, he noticed the prominent figure staring at them. Flustered, Axell nodded awkwardly at Albert.
After a moment, Albert nodded back expressionlessly and drove off.
"It seems Mr. Waston's not in the best mood,"
Axell observed, turning to Jessie. She look away and sigh, saying, “Why are you so focused on him? If you feel getting on his good side is more important to you, maybe we're not right for each other."
Jessie had been irritated since Axell meddled in her work.
Although he had just promised not to pressure her, now he was mentioning him again.
It made Jessie uncomfortable.
Resting her hand on the door handle, she said gently, “Take some time to think about it, okay?"
As she was about to get off the car, Axell quickly intervened, stopping her and offering an apology. "I'm sorry! It's my fault, Jessie. I didn't consider your feelings! I promise I won't mention him again, alright?"
