Chapter: 3900
Meanwhile, Albert brushed it off and instructed the driver to pay the fees in advance. Jessie felt utterly helpless. She wanted to decline Albert's request. Yet she knew Axell would undoubtedly grow suspicious if she did.
In the end, she had no option but to accept the payment and murmured softly, “Just a gentle reminder, parents won't be permitted during the sessions."
Albert agreed readily. "That's fine. I'm swamped with work, so I won't be able to join her in class."
Subsequently, he paid twenty thousand dollars upfront. Once Jessie verified the sum, she stowed the cash in the drawer and passed him the invoice. “Here you go, Mr. Waston. I'll be in touch next week."
She maintained the utmost politeness, treating him as though he were just another regular patron.
Albert glanced at Axell before addressing him with a smile. “Are you two off on a date? I envy you both! You're young and vibrant. Don't overwork yourself. Remember to enjoy life and have some fun."
Jessie muttered impatiently upon hearing this. “Why don't you stick to your own affairs, Mr. Waston?"
However, Albert didn't react. Instead, he turned to Jeslyn and suggested gently, "How about dining out for dinner, sweetie?"
Jeslyn glued her eyes on Jessie, awaiting her response.
After a prolonged silence from Jessie, the little girl grew impatient and declared arrogantly, “Well, there are plenty of kids who would love to have dinner with me!"
Albert shook his head helplessly, unsure of where Jeslyn inherited her temper from.
“I can give you a ride, Mr. Waston," Melissa offered politely.
But Albert waved it off, saying, "That won't be necessary. My driver is with us. By the way, aren't you hanging out with them? Enjoy yourselves!"
Melissa frowned slightly at his comment.
With that, Albert left with Jeslyn without a backward glance, leaving the others lost in thought.
Finally, Axell broke the silence, saying, “I didn't expect someone like Mr. Waston to personally enroll his child in a language course.
But isn't she a bit too young for that?"
Jessie smoothed her hair casually and replied, "If it proves too challenging for her, she'll likely give it up eventually.”
She doubted Jeslyn had the patience for learning a foreign language at her age; children got tired of things fast after all.
Axell sensed Jessie's mood wasn't great.
