Chapter: 3964
Seeing them bond, Albert couldn't resist tousling Jeslyn's hair.

She felt like their little pet, getting petted whenever they pleased.

Elsie, sharp as a tack, dashed off to get frozen wonton.

Truth be told, Jeslyn wasn't a fan of it normally.

Maybe she just wanted Jessie around.

The VIP ward had a tiny kitchen.

Just as Jessie open the package, Albert strolled in, shutting the door behind him. He wrapped his arms around her from behind, whispering, "I've never seen you do this before."

Jessie pleaded for her freedom.

Albert released her, settling nearby, quietly observing her culinary skills.

In the light, her profile was gentle and lovely.

She wasn't as young and pretty as before but had gained a different kind of charm. Though Albert was tempted, he didn't want to complicate things. He remembered she was still with Axell.

Albert backed off, sensing she wouldn't be pressured.

After reuniting for so long, they hadn't really talked openly.

Finally, in this small space, they could communicate. He inquired about her work and life.

Jessie responded casually.

Their conversation flowed smoothly and pleasantly.

As the wontons sizzled, Jessie expertly plated them. She then said softly, "Albert, I get it. You're waiting for me to split with Axell, thinking I'll come back to you. But have you ever considered that being with you would be the biggest compromise for me?"

Jessie wouldn't really mind dating divorced men.

But Albert, once the love of her life, was a different story. He had tied the knot with someone else, which still bothered her.

“Albert, why assume I'd want a married guy?"
