Chapter: 3983
Before Jessie could protest, he had already seized her hand and guided her out of the car.
The villa, typically devoid of permanent residents, occasionally saw the presence of cleaners. Albert escorted her to the spacious bedroom upstairs, and as he softly shut the door behind them, Jessie's unease began to grow.
“What's the matter? Are you scared?"
Albert gazed down at her. “You used to have the audacity to play pranks on me when we were together. Now, you're trembling just being in my presence?"
Jessie wanted to deny it, but the truth was evident in her trembling form.
Albert didn't press the issue. He guided her to the sofa before retrieving a first-aid kit.
Seated, he allowed her to assist him to treat his wound.
A strange calmness settled between them, as if past grievances had evaporated and the years of separation were but a fleeting illusion.
Jessie murmured softly, "Stop concerning yourself with Axell. It's not worth your trouble."
Albert fixed his gaze on her and inquired, "Do you feel sorry for him?"
Jessie lowered her gaze and shook her head. "No, it's not pity. It's simply unnecessary. That's all in the past."
Having said that, she meticulously tended to his wound. In reality, it was quite severe.
She hadn't anticipated that Albert, at his age, would act so impulsively.
Albert persisted in his inquiries. He gazed at her intently and queried, “He's inconsequential, so you deem it unnecessary, right?
Jessie, am I still of significance to you? Have you harbored resentment toward me all these years?"
Jessie shook her head gently.
He cradled the back of her head, leaned in, and tenderly kissed her.
Jessie was taken aback, her lips slightly parted, allowing Albert to kiss her passionately and eagerly, as if he wanted to consume her entirely with his fervent actions.
Jessie resisted, feeling apprehensive.
She pushed against his shoulders forcefully, pleading and calling out his name, "Albert... Albert..."
