Chapter: 4002
After he left, Jessie closed the door and was about to talk to Albert, only to find him asleep by the time she got back to the bed.
She was taken aback.
She recalled Albert never seemed to run out of energy.
Be it in business dealings or more personal moments, he always had boundless energy.
It was her first time witnessing him in such a state.
She quietly observed him sleeping, moving closer to tenderly tuck him under a blanket. Albert weakly caught her hand, his voice raspy as he whispered her name, “Jessie.."
Albert was asleep for the next 36 hours, leaving Jessie worried he might not wake up again.
Following the check-up, the doctor reassured her, "Mr. Waston is just extremely tired! He'll wake up on his own once he's had enough rest."
Comforted by the doctor's assurance, Jessie finally felt at ease.
Early next day, Elsie came over with Jeslyn, who was much improved and had returned home.
As she made breakfast, Elsie inquired, "Is Mr. Waston still sleeping?"
Jessie nodded in confirmation.
Jeslyn wouldn't have her breakfast at home, adamant about joining Jessie instead. The little girl reassured Jessie, “Dad's gonna pull through. He's gonna wake up and you two will get married, you'll see.”
Jessie just gave her a look.
Jeslyn, now focusing on her breakfast, muttered, “You're not being honest. You actually have feelings for my dad."
Jessie wasn't in the mood to clarify things to the kid.
Just then, the person in the bed stirred, calling out in a raspy voice, "Jeslyn?"
"Dad!"
Jeslyn rushed to her father's bedside instantly.
The girl, who always claimed she wasn't scared of anything, was now crying.
