Chapter: 4080
In her eyes, conversing with Anika was beneath her.
Alexis strolled to her car, hopped in, and peeled out of there.
Anika, lips pressed tight, slid on her shades. She wasn't ready to throw in the towel. Figured if she stirred the pot with Alexis, it'd ignite some sparks. Anika aimed to blow this whole mess sky-high, pushing Leonel toward a divorce.
But Alexis gave her the cold shoulder, much to Anika's dismay.
Anika felt a twinge of anxiety. She knew men's tendencies. Sure, Leonel swung by mainly to ruffle Alexis' feathers, and for a bit of excitement with her.
There was no hiding that from Anika.
Once the novelty wore off, Anika knew she'd be out in the cold.
She planned to make a big move.
Come Saturday noon, Alexis lunched at the Fowlers' manor. She'd shed a few pounds, Rena whipping up her special soup. Rena danced around the topic, itching to ask Alexis about her and Leonel.
Outside, rumors swirled.
Alexis' stance remained cryptic.
Just then, Waylen, returning from a golf outing, rolled in. Spry for his age, he bounded out of the car and into the house.
Upon hearing Alexis' greeting, he just ignored her and tossed a pile of photos on the table.
Waylen clutched his chest, fuming. "Get Leonel on the line. I need answers about these pics. Are they real or fake?"
Seeing Waylen's distress, Rena hurried to fetch his medication.
Even with a pill, Waylen simmered with rage.
Alexis sifted through the stack of photos. The shots were intimate, starring Leonel and Anika. Snaps of them vacationing in different cities, playing golf, and even locking lips in the apartment foyer.
Alexis' fingertips quivered slightly.
She gazed at the passionate embrace captured in the photo. Their expressions were so intense, it seemed they'd merge into one any second.
Her lips twitched. Eventually, she looked away, managing a smile.
