Chapter: 4089
"So listen up! After you and Alexis get divorced, you'll become nobody to us. Don't ever come to my parents’ house again!"
"Or maybe you can go live with that woman and her parents!"
"We don't give a fuck! Since you've dared to cheat on your wife with another woman, own up to it! Or you're just nothing but a coward!"
While he said all these, Leonel was doubled over in pain.
When Marcus saw this, he staggered up to his feet and kicked him twice before leaving the room.
Meanwhile, downstairs in the parking lot, there was a white Bentley with pink interior.
Melissa was seated in the car, waiting patiently for Marcus. When he finally came out of the building, she went up to him and scolded him, "I've told you so many times You're not eight anymore! Why the fighting?!"
Marcus didn't say anything at first. He climbed into the car and raised his head so that Melissa could treat his wounds. It was at this point that he murmured, “Alexis is being mistreated by that bastard and you expect me to sit still and do nothing? He's lucky that Edwin is on a business trip. Otherwise, the two of us would have beat him to death!"
Melissa didn't bother to reply. She just quietly applied the ointment on his forehead.
When she felt that Marcus had gotten over his anger and had calmed down considerably, she said lightly, “Of course I hate him too. What I meant was that you didn't have to do it by yourself, you know. Wouldn't it have been better if we just secretly hired someone to kick his ass?"
“Well, well, well!" Marcus chuckled, pinching her face playfully. “I never knew you were this fierce! I guess this means that I shouldn't dare have an affair with anyone, otherwise you'll definitely hire some to kick my ass.”
But Melissa was focused on his injuries. After looking at his bruised face for a moment, she leaned forward and gave him a kiss on his cheek.
Then she said in a serious tone, "I just want you to be safe and not get too angry over it.”
Marcus didn't say anything in response. He simply pulled her into his arms and caressed her long hair affectionately.
Leonel lay on the floor all alone in the lounge. It took a long while before Noreen came back with the first aid kit.
She squatted down beside him and carefully cleaned his wounds.
Damn! Marcus really did kick Leonel very hard! She was so shocked.
"Are you all right, Mr. Douglas?" she asked aloud in concern.
But Leonel didn't respond. Instead he stared quietly at the incandescent lamp overhead. "The Fowler family probably has some connections in the court house," Noreen said. "The judge issued a summons this afternoon. My assistant just gave it to me. Do you want me to read it for you?"
Leonel managed to sit up and lean against the sofa, stretching out his hand for the document.
