Chapter: 4122
But Leonel refused. "I'm not in the mood," he said straightforwardly.
James never expected that Leonel would say no. For a moment, he didn't know what to say in response. But after a while, he said awkwardly, “Are you still feeling sad? You need to go out and relax. If you want to get Alexis back, we have to give the whole issue further thought and discussion. Believe it or not, even the toughest women surrender to persistent men. Look at Albert, for instance. He made a big mistake. He got married and had a child with another woman. Even though Jessie hasn't really forgiven him now, she is still helping him take care of that child. Maybe he'll steal a kiss from her from time to time. See my point? Persistence is the key!"
James was quite a garrulous individual, and right now, Leonel was not in the mood to listen to him, so he ended the call immediately.
This made James feel quite upset.
While the call lasted, James's voice had been so loud that Nova had also heard it. She couldn't help but remark, "Too much wine can easily lead to serious trouble."
Leonel looked at her and said in a soft tone, “Prepare a bowl of noodles for me. Add two eggs and some vegetables."
Nova didn't need to be told that Leonel missed Alexis.
Nevertheless, she didn't say anything. With a sigh, she went into the kitchen.
Leonel was now all alone in the quiet living room.
He raised his hand and stared at the bandage that was placed on it.
When Alexis used to live with him, he never came home whenever he was mad at her. But now, he always felt the urge to come home every night. Unfortunately, she was no longer here. Hence, the place felt empty.
A few minutes later, Nova called out to him, telling him that dinner was ready.
Leonel was feeling hungry. As a result, he ate very fast. After finishing his meal, he grabbed his car keys and told Nova that he was going out for some fresh air.
His plan was to just drive around casually, but to his surprise, he soon arrived at the gate of the Fowler mansion.
Everyone in Duefron, most especially the domestic staff at the Fowler mansion, knew that he and Alexis had gotten divorced. Hence, he was refused entry.
But he didn't insist either. He parked his car at the gate and leaned against the door, smoking quietly. The night wind blew through his white shirt and his disheveled dark hair.
Before long, a black Rolls-Royce slowly pulled up at the gate. When the window was rolled down, Leonel saw a handsome face.
It was Marcus.
"Why don't you go in, my ex brother-in-law?" Marcus asked with a sneer when he saw the gloomy look on Leonel's face. "Or are the domestic staff being stubborn?"
Leonel knew that Marcus was just mocking him.
