Chapter: 4123
So he asked with a faint smile, "Marcus, you've done this sort of thing before, haven't you?"
"You're right," Marcus confirmed with a nod. "For me, the hard times are over, and the good times are just beginning. I'm not sure if it will be the same way for you."
With that, he rolled up the window and drove into the compound.
Melissa who was seated right next to him couldn't help but say, “Marcus, you're so childish."
In response, Marcus chuckled and parked the car.
Since it was quite late at night, the mansion was quiet. The only sounds that could be heard were the subtle sounds of chirping made by insects.
Marcus unfastened his seat belt and pinched Melissa's face. "If not that my sister discouraged me from doing it, I would have knocked Leonel out, again. In fact, I even made a brilliant plan with Edwin already," he remarked.
Melissa sighed and shook her head. “Both of you are just too childish," she mumbled.
Immediately, Marcus turned off the light in the car, plunging them into darkness. "Try calling me childish again," he dared her in a hoarse voice. “If you do, I'll drive home right now and you'll see how being childish really looks Like."
Melissa was left speechless by this threat.
Meanwhile, inside the villa, Mark, Cecilia, Waylen and Rena were having a discussion.
"Is Alexis really planning to take the kids abroad?" Mark asked Waylen.
"Yes," Waylen confirmed, "they are going abroad for a few years. Rena is very worried about Alexis, so she will go with them. I'll stay back to keep an eye on Marcus and the others. I also have to take care of my father too."
When Mark heard this, he didn't say anything in response. He just drank his tea in silence.
At this point, Marcus suddenly walked in with Melissa in tow.
"Great-uncle Mark... Aunt Cecilia, we've come to take you home,"
Marcus announced.
Mark and Cecilia were glad to see them. Nonetheless, Mark grumbled, "I've told you before that you don't have to come to drive me home. My arms and legs are working fine. I can take care of myself.”
Marcus' response to this was to put his hand in his pocket and shift the blame to Melissa. "It's all because Melissa thinks you're old and you need to be taken care of."
Before Mark could say anything, Waylen chimed in, "Marcus, you're being sharp-tongued again. I think Melissa's the only one who doesn't seem to be bothered by it."
